Orrstown Bank Participates in "Teach Children to Save" Day

Shippensburg, PA, May 4, 2010 – Jamie Steffen, Branch Executive Officer of Orrstown Bank’s Red Hill branch Nichole Clouser, Branch Executive Officer of the Bank’s New Bloomfield branch, Bernie Kent, Branch Executive Officer and Gretchen Turnbaugh, Teller of the Bank’s Duncannon branch welcomed 3rd graders from New Bloomfield Elementary and Newport Elementary to Orrstown Bank’s New Bloomfield and Newport branches for a fun day of banking education.

Nearly 200 students attended the Bank’s “Teach Children to Save Day” on April 27th. Jamie, Nichole, Bernie, and Gretchen offered a tour of the bank, snacks, a lesson on saving money versus eating at a restaurant, and a visit with Professor Pennywise. Stephanie Crouse of the Newport School District commented on the highlights of the visit: “The money sorter/bill counter is always a big hit, along with the vault.  A new feature this year was the counterfeit device - that was “way cool” according to the kids!  Orrstown Bank continues to be very generous to the students with their “goodie bags”.  The quarter to each student initiated a wonderful teaching opportunity the next day at school.  Many of the students brought in coins and quarter collections.  We coordinated social studies and math lessons with the quarters.”

With over $1.3 billion in assets, Orrstown Financial Services, Inc. and its subsidiary, Orrstown Bank, provide a full range of consumer and business financial services through twenty-one banking offices and two remote service facilities located in Cumberland, Franklin and Perry Counties, Pennsylvania and Washington County, Maryland.  Orrstown Financial Services, Inc.’s stock is quoted on the NASDAQ Capital Market under the symbol ORRF.
