Direct deposit is a convenient, secure, and easy way of having funds deposited into your account. You can receive your payroll, government benefits, and investment dividends using direct deposit. The funds are received electronically and deposited directly into your account. Direct deposits are sometimes called ACH credits.
This can depend on the source of your direct deposit. Usually it takes four to eight weeks to start a new direct deposit. This also applies to existing direct deposits you may be transferring to your new account. You will need to keep the account you are switching from open until you know that your new account is receiving your deposits.
